I needed to move the diverter from the faceplate of the handle to the tub faucet. This serves the exact purpose. I understand the price is high. But this does save a lot money comparing to replace the whole shower cartridge.

I had customers who had the old 600 series Delta tub faucet that works like a single handle kitchen faucet. The diverter was a push style that stuck out of the trim plate below the handle. They wanted to update the trim but keep the rough-in valve to keep cost down. After a bit of research I found that there isn't any other 600 series trim with the push diverter that doesn't have the clear ball style handle, of which they wanted to get rid of. So luckily for me Delta has a plug for the diverter that opened up the doors to many more styles of trim for this faucet. After installing this, the trim can be found under "Delta RP54870" in 3 colors. Make sure you also get a new spout with the diverter built in so you can use your shower.

Allowed me to easily and cheaply convert to a shower diverter on the bathtub faucet. MUCH cheaper that the one from Delta.

Perfect fit for my vintage Delta shower valve when I replaced the trim with a new one that had the diverter on the tub spout instead of on the shower valve itself.
