Perfect for bypassing VATS for my autostart!For those who said there are no instructions, they are correct. But, for this kind of modification, there are a plethora of online videos that explain it.GM VATS works by reading a resistor pellet located in your key.These resistors are custom matched to each vats key number. Again, this is a list that can easily be found online. “Vats key listâ€My vats number was 13. Looking that up I find that my resistor is 7.5k.Although they come in a pack of 10 each, you only need one resistor for your vehicle.Once you find the correct resistor rating for your vehicle, it’s a simple as finding the wires associated with the key sensor, cutting it, and splicing in the one resistor.After that, the car works like a charm with my autostart!If you’re not sure of your VATS number, you can use a multimeter to read the resistance of the resistor pellet in the key, or just go to your local dealer and ask them to scan your key to get the correct vats number. (You’ll then have to google the resistance rating for that number)

My son lost the keys to my 91 Camaro and had to get new keys. After some basic wiring the resistor worked to bypass my vats. No issues. Couldn't be happier.

You only get 10 1k ohm resistors with this purchase. Sending back immediately for a refund.

There are 15 different resistance values for the VATS system. I started at number 1 and my 86 Corvette started on number 14! I should have started with number 15. You have to wait 5 minutes between each trial.I bought the car without any keys and changed the ignition switch and had to match the resistance to the new key. You can then have a locksmith cut a key with the correct chip resistance to match your new switch.Well worth it!

Only received 100 pieces. 10 bags with 10 pieces each. 9 different resistor values as it had 2 bags with the same value. GM VAT system uses 15 different resistor values. I have a 9 in 15 chance to have the correct one. Hoped 17 different values as the ad seems to imply , would have the correct resistor value. The bag was torn open but the shipping envelope was not open.

The product description said you would get 170 resistors , 17 packages of 10 each, each a different value of ohm resistance. Received 1 package of ten all the same. Short shipped 160 each.

made for GM's VAT system. It is winter, and the car is under three feet of snow, but I will test them in spring. The package came on time, and all the resistors are present. If it works, I will be happy. The analysis can not be complicated, they are just common resistors
