Very smooth. Functions very well. Significantly superior to the Chinese knock-offs.Not that hard to install, but to install the springs, seats and quad seal take a bit of finesse.

My valve body was about 27 years old and still not leaking. I was able to use this replacement valve assembly to update my old shower / tub valve body without having to replace the entire valve body in the wall since I had it disassembled anyway. I did this as part of a refresh when I was upgrading the trim kit from the old original chrome trim to an updated and modern brushed stainless steel finish trim kit. Great new look and it now has a new valve assembly as well. Nice product and highly recommended!

I have a Delta Monitor 17 series faucet in my tub. When the cartridge wore out I made the mistake of replacing it with a knockoff from a local hardware store. It broke inside the handle in less than two months, though by a miracle it didn't leak. This unit replaces the cheap one and it works great. Moral: get the OEM cartridge for this application.UPDATE (5/23/24):The cartridge is still fine, but the rubber seals wore out in less than five months! Looks like it was friction on the cartridge. Luckily I was able to find a kit to replace just them at Lowe's for about $3.00. Very annoying though. I put waterproof grease on the cartridge backplate to see if it helps the seals last longer.

As far as I can tell, this is OEM. The packaging appears to be from Delta. It fit perfectly and has fixed my leak. The temperature part of the faucet moves easily. It seems as solid as my original. At just over half the price of ordering from Delta, I think I got a great deal.

Seems like this was packaged as a return but it appeared new and genuine. All parts fit like oem. The hot/cold alignment is off somewhat so for us, not a huge deal as we will likely remodel soon and this was a stop gap.

The company was kind enough to send another unit, and it worked perfectly. We really appreciated.

High quality, fits as advertised. Recommend this product rather than generic brands that are advertised as a direct replacement.

I think the first one I got must have been damaged. This one installed the same way, but unlike the first, which still leaked to matter what I did; this one is perfect.

This was a replacement for a 20 year old Delta cartridge. Installation was fast but not straightforward, there were subtle, but important differences on my faucet compared to the instructions and the online Delta video. Take pictures during disassembly for reference and cover the bath drain with a towel not to lose small parts. DO NOT, as was suggested in a previous comment, use a pipe wrench to remove the brass bonnet nut, the teeth on the wrench will score the nut. A strap wrench is a better choice although I didn't need either as it was hand tight only. Installing the seats and springs, along with the quad seal was a little tricky but I used a needle-nosed pliers and pushed them in place and they held. Finally, Read and understand the instructions!

This was the correct cartridge for my older model 17 bath/shower faucet set. I only gave 4 stars as the packaging caused me some doubt if it was genuine Delta OEM parts. The packaging looked like a photocopy, but in the end, I think it's legit.Follow all instructions, but I would add a few more. When I removed the two seals and springs and the figure 8 seal, I noticed a fair amount of hard water deposits. So I used a nylon brush and some CLR to remove all the built up calcium. I figure the deposits would interfere with good seal. I spent a good 5 minutes on that until the seal area was all clear.DO NOT USE tools like a screwdriver or scraper to clean hard water deposits off, you would pretty much guarantee leaks forever. You'd tell your wife that it was the cartridge or something, but you and I would know it was the gouge in the brass made by your Craftsman blade screwdriver. 8-]On reassembly, I used some seal lubricant to aid in keeping the inner springs, seals, and figure 8 seal in place, and used the seal lubricant on the outer o-ring to ensure a problem free insertion. With all of that lube, the cartridge did want to get pushed back out by the springs, but it was easy enough to hold in while I threaded back on the locking ring, I also socked the lock ring in CLR while I was cleaning the seal seats as there were deposits on it was well, and then used some lube on it to, so really only needed to tighten by hand then just maybe 1/8 turn with a wrench.I turned on the water at that point and looked for leaks, none. I did notice there was hard water deposits inside the chrome extension that slides over the housing - indicating some water was entering from the front, and potentially running into the wall cavity, so I used some clear sealant to stop water from flowing into it from the front of the cartridge and applied sealant where the chrome extension slides into the chrome rear plate. I also applied sealant where the rear plate sits firmly against the tile, but only from 9AM to 3PM positions.Good luck - this is one of the more difficult cartridges to change out, but be methodical and you'll be fine.Oh, use some lube to put the handle back on too, it is a real tight fit over the spline fitting.
