This replacement cartridge was exactly what I needed for my Delta shower. It fit perfectly with the 1400 series, and the included bonnet nut was a nice bonus. The water flow is smooth, and everything works as expected. Highly recommend for a quick and easy fix!

Fixed the dripping problem!! And was a great price! Comes with 2 additional washers when the others eventually wear out. Now here’s the real important part of this review. A lot of reviews are posting there hot water isn’t that hot as it used to be. Ok so there’s no directions included but if you’re handy like me or even not this will fix your issue. When the cartridge is sent, they have it dialed down so people won’t scull them selves. Like a restrictor. Very easy to adjust, here’s how! The yellowish/white plastic part where the brass nipple comes out of is what you want to grab. Either before you install it or after it doesn’t matter. The only thing you will have to do is remove the handle if it’s already installed. Now that plastic yellowish/white part has ribs on the top and bottom. Grab the ribbed with 2 fingers and pull. You will see to gray plastic wings come forward on the left and right side of the cartridge. Turn the yellowish/white dial to the left about a 1/4 turn and it will lock into the new setting. Put your handle back on and you will now see that the handle goes all the way to hot. No need to shut your water line off or anything, it’s literally a 5 minute adjustment. Hope this helps a lot of you!

Beyond frustrated. Recently purchased a home and have a leaky shower. After some research I figured out it is the cartridge. I did some more research and saw that it can easily be fixed. Not knowing the age of the shower, If these were the original fixtures from eighteen years ago when the house was built, or if they had been replaced at some time, I purchased this cartridge along with the newer edition just to be safe. In my first attempt to change the cartridge, I learned disassembling is not as easy as the video showed. With a little bit more investigating I needed to get a strap wrench to remove a fitting. Second attempt, I got it disassembled after fighting to pull the cartridge out. I was a little surprised when I pulled out the cartridge as I was expecting it to be either blue or gray, mine was white. For everything I read this should have been the cartridge, but despite my efforts it was not going in all the way. I tried the newer cartridge, the gray one, that also did not fit. I compared this blue cartridge with my original white cartridge, There's clearly a size difference. I checked again to make sure I was not wrong with what model I had, It clearly says Delta 1400. I ended up having to put back in the old cartridge, reassemble the faucet and now sending this one back to amazon. While I thought I was saving money, I wasted a lot of time, its been frustrating, and now I have the hassel with packaging this up and taking it to UPS. Unfortunately, me trying to save money cost me more money, so I will be ordering one from Delta and not a OEM one. Side note: By the reviews this must work on some models, but I can tell you if you have a 1400 don't make the same mistake I made.

The item works, but it’s actually ever so slightly larger than the original version. I had to be extremely careful not to rupture the plumbing when installing this. It wouldn’t completely seat in the original housing, so I had to use the retention ring and gentle coaxing with a strap wrench to actually seat the valve so as not to bend the pipe. Once I finally got it seated, it seems to be working properly. No leaks yet. Just be very careful if you do the work yourself.

This was the perfect replacement for the Delta tub and shower valve, also came at a great value compared to the big box stores.

Exact fit and no more leak. I had to clean the inside of the valve body since there were some calcium build up. After that, the valve just snaps in.

I spent at least an hour trying to install this new cartridge, and it would not fully seat so that I could install the nut. I used so much pressure I thought I was going to push the valve body into the next room, and this is after using silicone faucet lube on every external part. If I removed the small o-rings from the back, the cartridge would slide into place. But even if I put on the old flattened o-rings from the old cartridge, it would not. This tells me that either the spacing between the two back projections or the depth of the o-ring grooves were misengineered or poorly molded. Also, the supplied hold down nut is shorter and with fewer threads than the original so with the cartridge even slightly out from its normally seated position the nut would not engage. I was hoping that installing the nut would help force the new cartridge into place. The old nut would engage its threads but as I was snugging that down the front half of the new cartridge spun clockwise beyond what should have been its lock point. So the internal stops are insufficient. All of this was frustrating to say the least, given that the water was off to the whole house during this time.Ultimately, I took all of the new o-rings and internal cups and springs from the new valve and installed them into the original 23 year old valve, which slid into place with no issue and no leaks. Obviously I can't recommend this cartridge, given the level of frustration I experienced and money I wasted.Update: After posting this review, the seller reached out to me and offered a full refund. Because I had used parts off of the new cartridge to fix the old one obviously I could not return it, and they were fine with that. The seller was very clear that I was not expected to alter my review in any way, but great customer service deserves recognition. I upped my rating from 1 star to 3 for that reason.

I few things I'd like to share:- My old cartridge was the same size but it had a different hot water adjusting system - it had a brass ring/"cog". I was afraid that I ordered the wrong cartridge when I compared both. Apparently, this cartridge uses a different/easier system to adjust hot water - you need to pull the plastic ring and rotate it to adjust the hot water. So, don't freak out if it doesn't look the same :)- I've seen a few people have difficulties with the installation. I found that if you put the cartridge halfway and use the original round "nut", it will push the cartridge to its position without any problems. I'm not sure if this is a bad method and could damage o-rings so keep that in mind. Also, I've seen people recommend using faucet lubricator for those o-rings - I'll definitely try to use the lubricant next time.I've installed it a month in basement shower but I rarely use it. No issues so far

Almost flooded my bathroom. The bonnet nut didn't hold and and whole cartridge flew out when testing the shower.
