This is a simple solution for monitoring weather at multiple sites. With the sensor, you get temp, humidity, wind speed, direction, rainfall/rain rate, solar intensity and UV index. In the display you get barometric and indoor temp/humidity, with WiFi it will post data to WU and another site. This makes things simple and tidy. My prior setup used another prolific brand and needed a raspberry pi running weewx so the data would post to WU and do the multi-site thing, but I had to deal with USB display crashes... every few weeks resetting it. I'd recommend not using the app to set it up, but instead connect to it's hotspot (esp32, eh?) and set it up that way, entering your WU station ID and key. BTW, if you still want to use weewx with it, proxy the API calls using your router or mirror the traffic and extract the data as it passes by, it's standard HTTP. What could use improvement? First, I think pole mounting is more difficult than it needs to be, it's hard to hold the nuts and screws together when up on the roof, so at least one side should be captive nuts...I'd recommend blue painters tape holding the screws and nuts before going up. 2nd recommendation for improvement would be have a web api on the station to extract current readings (either as JSON or as a simple webpage) so home assistant can access the data and do things with it.

I purchased this weather station after many years of interest in home meteorology and disappointments with cheap instruments and devices used to measure weather conditions at my home. It looks like I have found the solution to my problem with the Sainlogic Wireless Weather Station! This unit combines very simple installation with full instructions with very accurate measurements and access to weather resources via the web app! The best of all worlds in my mind! Simple installation of a complex scientific device! My biggest fear was having to assemble the entire unit with tons of screws and unreadable instructions like an IKEA project. My fears were put to rest when the package was opened and the entire unit, from wind speed, wind direction, solar panels and hardware to mount unit was all in one beautifully packaged piece!!The instructions were well illustrated and easy to read with a quick start guide as well as a full manual available for reference. From box to startup in my house, (not mounted outside yet), was a total of 10 minutes time! The display is gorgeous and colorful. (Very easy to read also). The calibration was done by the machine itself and was very accurate showing the same humidity and temperature from both the outside unit and inside unit while both were indoors. This was essential for accurate readings!Mounting the unit vertically on my deck was simple with the screws and hardware provided and 30 minutes later the unit was connected to my WiFi and broadcasting information and data to my phone app and my base unit indoors. The cost of the unit was reasonable also, costing almost the same as units which have less than half of the capabilities of this one and no access to outside data. This is what a home weather station should be! A fun, simple hobby that is both informative and useful in emergencies. I do not know the long term life expectancy of the unit but it seems very well made and not cheap materials. My only minor thing that could be improved on the unit is a better graphical representation of wind direction. This is on the main screen. This is so minor and just my own personal preference.I highly recommend this weather station for hobbyists and serious home weather observers alike. It will provide many hours of fun, learning and informative data for the home meteorologist!

This is a second weather station for me as I have another brand at my main home and this unit was bought for a second location. It was on sale, hence my decision to try another brand. There’s good and bad to report. Assembly is easy, and supplied mounting hardware allows for many options, which is good. The unit powered up as expected and connected quickly and easily to the base unit following the quick start instructions in the manual—also good. I mounted the transmitter (external sensor unit) on a dock post about 50’ from my home where the base unit (display) is located. There were no issues with communication between the components, and the readings appear fairly accurate. I did adjust the barometric pressure differential a little to bring this reading in line with a nearby airport official reading. Adjustment to the pressure readout was a little frustrating, but is doable once one learns the proper sequence of buttons to press to change parameters. There is adjustment available for several readouts including temp, etc.The main problems I have are with the Wi-Fi configuration, connecting processes, and the Sainlogic app. I am fairly tech savvy, but I ran into issues when trying to get communication between the unit, Wi-Fi, and the Sainlogic app. The instructions are typically unclear and difficult to follow. I recommend establishing the connection via the web rather than through the app. Instructions for web connection can be found in the instruction manual following the instructions for making connections through the Sainlogic app. Here are a few tips learned through the process:First, make sure you have an account with Weatherunderground, then use your account to obtain a station name and key from WU for your station. This is not clear from the instructions. That is, the station name and key is assigned by WU and must then be programmed to the base unit. Copy the ID and key code carefully, making sure to pay attention to upper and lowercase and not confusing letters with like-appearing numbers. If you’re able to use copy/paste, this is best.Once you have your station ID and key, connect to the base unit display using the direct login through a browser . Make sure the Wi-Fi icon is flashing. Use a browser and the address provided in the instructions. Type in the base unit address into the browser exactly as it is in the instructions and hit enter.Once connected to the display unit, follow the prompts to link the base to your 2.5 GHz local router (you can scan for available networks by tapping the icon next to the fill box or type in your network name), choose your router network by name, then enter the password for your network . (You must use a 2.5 GHz band and NOT a 5 GHz) DON’T HIT SAVE YET Next, enter your station ID and station key as provided by WU in the boxes provided in the web interface. Again, be exact in transitioning information from WU page or use cut/paste. Now hit save.Your base unit should connect to your home Wi-Fi and begin transferring data from the outdoor sensors to WU soon thereafter. The Wi-Fi icon on the base display should stop flashing and the “e” symbol should appear above it on the display. It takes a few minutes, but you should soon see your station show up on the WU map, and you should be able to see the station data for the temp, wind, rain, etc. by tapping the icon for your station on the WU site/app.I downloaded the Sainlogic app, but it’s not that great. Basically, you can see the same data on it as is shown on WU, so if you use WU, the Sainlogic app is redundant. It would be nice if the data history charts and graphs shown in the app could be customized to provide custom time periods as I can on my other weather station’s app, but not so. It should be noted that there are several other apps that will pull data from your station. One only has to find an app and tell it your station name. I like the PWS app, only because it is easier to readFinally, I’m not quite impressed with the display either. It is large, but some data numbers are difficult to read at night due to the font color, and the display can’t be read at all in lighted conditions from more than a short distance. I typically prefer to use my phone to monitor the weather, so I can get by with the poor display visuals.

So far I'm impressed with this unit. After not having owned a PWS for a number of years I wanted to get back into it, and have something with online capabilities.Pros:- Large screen is easy to read and clear- Set up is easy- Customizable display options- Sensors are accurate with fast updates- Connecting to wifi and Wunderground were easy and quick, I was online on Wunderground within 15 minutes- Integrated sensor unit was easy to mount with multiple options provided- Extra year or warranty if registeredCons:- Range of transmission is limited to what you'd expect, ideally no more than 100ft outside the house. I had it around 150ft from the house and connection started to get spottyOverall I'm happy so far and would recommend
