I purchased this alarm to keep my family safe in our home in case of fire and so far it has done just that. We test it often and it always tests perfectly. One time our oven had droppings that created lots of smoke and the alarm went off until the smoke was cleared out of the house which proved to us how well it works besides using the test button. I greatly appreciate the easy setup and install and how loud the alarm is when it sounds.I would recommend this alarm for anyone needing a loud and easy to install smoke detector for their home. Despite other reviews talking about the magnet installation causing the alarm to fall, i have not had this happen and the alarm has remained sturdy right where we installed it safely. I will update this review if that ever changes but after 30 days it is still working wonderfully so far.

My smoke detectors were all over 20 years old & it was time to replace them. Living alone & over 65, it is prudent to be careful on step stools & ladders. Usually when replacing batteries in the old ones, I had to use the top step of the step stool to reach it & get the old battery out. Then getting the new battery in usually required both hands.These new ones are SO much better! A little smaller in diameter, they were a breeze to install! I followed the directions, using alcohol to clean the ceiling & allowing it to dry for 24 hrs & the same for cleaning the metal parts prior to attaching the adhesive pads. I did them 1 at a time, so there were always 3, then 2, then 1 of the old units still working until I got the final one replaced. That provided plenty of time for everything to dry & the adhesive patches to be most effective.They have performed flawlessly since installed. The provided battery in one did need to be replaced & that was when the real joy came. The ceiling on the top floor is low enough I can reach the smoke alarm without a step stool or ladder. I only had to reach up & turn it slightly to remove the magnetic cover, replace the battery & then it just clings when I put it back.Another unit is at the bottom of the basement steps, so no stool or ladder needed there either as I was eye level to it. The other 2 with 8 ft. ceilings did require the step stool, but all I had to do was get each close enough for the magnet to grab it. Those are in the bedroom hallway & kitchen.And on top of that, they are really nice looking!

The magnetic Mounts made it easy to stick these all over the house (Especially to drop ceiling rails). Come time to replace batteries, just hop and grab, swap battery and hop and stick.

I bought this 6-pack of Siterwell smoke detectors because I needed many for my home. That 6-pack looked like good value for money compared to other products. The appear to be functionning correctly. Fortunately I have not had any fire for a real test !

Bought a new house that had none equipped in the bedrooms, perfectly done the job! Arrived early. Batteries do look a little cheap but will replace once they begin to beep. It’s been two months and they’re fine.
