Stud 1/2 in. Scan:Locates the center and edges of wood and metal studs up to 1/2 in. (13mm)deep.
Stud 1 in. Scan:Locates the center and edges of wood and metal studs up to 1 in. (25mm)deep.
Stud 1 1/2 in. Scan:Locates the center and edges of wood and metal studs up to 1 1/2 in. (38mm)deep.
AC Scan:Detects live unshielded AC wires up to 2in. (60mm)deep.
Metal Scan:Detects Non-Ferrous metal up to 2.36in. (60mm)deep.
Metal Scan:Detects Ferrous metal up to 3.2in. (80mm)deep.

1. SETUP

Press Power Button to turn on the tool, press STUD-METAL-AC Mode Button to switch to the desired mode

Press BUZZER button to turn On/Off buzzer alarm

STUD Mode with 3 measuring depths: 1/2 in. (13mm) - 1 in. (25mm) - 1 1/2 in. (38 mm)
METAL Mode for locating metal: include Non-Ferrous metal and Ferrous metal
AC Mode for locating live AC wiring

2. CALIBRATION

Press Calibration Button on the side to start calibration, the decreasing bars will disappear and buzzer will beep one time, which means calibration is completed.
When take multiple readings, it is important to wait for calibration to complete (2-3 seconds) every time before moving the scanner.

3. SCANNING

Place the tool flat against the wall.
Slowly slide tool across the surface, the pointed arrow indicate the direction need to move to, the EDGE indication shows when reach edge of the stud.

4. READING RESULTS

Continue sliding tool, when the center of a wood stud or metal stud is located, the full bars on the Signal Strength Indicator, the CENTER indication will show and the buzzer will sound.
If the stud is deeper than the mode selected, not full bars will show on the screen, set the device in deeper scan mode, re-calibrate and run another scan.

I had to locate a stud behind a drywall. I tried to locate it with a strong magnet (N52), but in vain, I couldn't do it with the magnet, the stud was too deep.That's why I decided to purchase an electronic stud detector.I was looking for a cheap but high quality detector, and I found this detector on Amazon.Although there was only one review of it, I decided to take a risk (I was tempted by the low price) and purchase it.Happily, I discovered that this detector is an excellent detector that met my expectations, and even more...The detector was able to easily locate the stud behind the drywall.It is very important to calibrate the detector before each scan, otherwise you get random results.I highly recommend this stud finder.Important note: the detector is very effective in locating studs, metal pipes, power lines - only behind plaster or wooden walls.It is not effective at all for locating the above behind concrete walls, blocks, bricks!!!So if you have concrete, brick or block walls - don't buy this type of detector!Thank you very much!

I had to go back and forth several times to find the correct spot cause it was lagging but I mean my 65 in TV is still up on the wall so I guess it's right

Very lightweight and simple to read. the issue is that its not very accurate. I would suggest paying a few more dollars for a better one.
