I am super pleased with this ceramic butter dish!I’m trying to get away from plastic (as much as one can) and have purchased several ceramic or glass ones only to be warped or too small or hard to open.This butter dish has a nicely made gold handle and it has room for a real stick of butter!There’s no warping. The navy blue looks pretty on my counter top so this is a great purchase!

What I like most is the little handle on the top. No more trying to remove the cover without getting butter all over it. The little handle on top is key. I also appreciate that it can hold the two sizes of butter available in the West. It is maddening to bring home butter that is too fat for the butter dish. Not so with this one.It is true that there is nothing to prevent the butter from sliding if it gets very hot in your house. So be warned on that. I recommend that you keep the butter dish out of the sun or chill it in the frig on very warm days if your place is not air conditioned.Overall the best butter dish that I have owned.

I tried a butter bell for a while, but it was so messy trying to scrape the butter out of the concave butter bell. So I tried this. It's a great butter dish and it looks great on my counter. The only thing is, I've stopped eating toast so that I can lose weight and I'm not using so much butter now. I used to use it every day every morning with my toast but now I'm counting calories.

Looks great and is the perfect size for a stick of butter. Has a small lip inside it to scrape excess butter on. Only complaint is that because it’s black and butter is oily, the outside is very hard to keep clean after using it once. When picking the lid up by anything other than the extremely small handle, it shows a lot of finger prints. Wiping finger prints off with a paper towel just smears them around and makes it look even worse. Washing your hands before touching it helps, but sometimes when you’re in the middle of cooking you just need a slap of butter and don’t have time to wash off any oils on your hands. Then you’re dealing with extra cleanup to make the ceramic lid look clean.But it’s a cute butter container
