I waited very patiently before selecting this dish as I considered other brands, styles, and colors. And then I happened to see this one displayed in a kitchen specialty store and fell in love, knowing I found the perfect one. It has not disappointed me!First, the function of the Butter Bell, which is the original butter crock, works perfectly. Without fail! I am both a cook and a baker, busy in my kitchen quite a bit so this is very useful to me to always have soft butter available without having to throw it in the microwave and accidently warming it too long, wasting or ruining the texture. The texture stays perfect in this crock! No, it is not a pain to remember to change the water. I just do it when we add butter, which we do frequently enough. We use quite a bit of butter at my house! The crock holds one entire stick.Secondly, this pattern! I mean, look at it and tell me what is not to love! We are a family who loves bumblebees...and the honey they provide. This looks exquisite on my counter. If I want to put just the butter on my table, the part that holds just the butter is solid white so it goes with everything. It is perfection!Third, it is very easy and quick to clean and care for. Think of this piece as what it really is - a gorgeous piece of porcelain - something you enjoy taking care of - because its beauty brings much joy!

This little crock is awesome and so easy to use! No knicks or excess clay that snags. It’s nice and smooth and great quality. Pictures do not do the design justice. It’s so gorgeous in person! I read reviews where some people had the butter fall out into the water. Another reviewer suggested letting your butter get room temp, then tightly packing it into the top(I used a silicone spatula which was easier than a butter knife or spoon), and then put the whole top piece in the fridge with a piece of cellophane over the butter for a few hours. I did exactly this and let it sit in the fridge for maybe 4-5 hours. Then put that over the bottom part of the crock with the water in it. By the next morning my butter was nice and soft and spreadable and did not fall out! So I highly recommend following this same step! The crock lid sits evenly within the bottom so there’s no bugs or dust or anything getting into it. It perfectly holds a whole stick of butter. And the butter taste fresh every time! I would absolutely buy another one in the future if needed. And would definitely gift it to someone else if they needed one!

This jar is very well made, sturdy and looks great on my counter top. It's so convenient to have soft butter at the ready. Highly recommend!

I’m so happy I ordered this lovely product!! I’ve been wanting a butter bell for a while now and couldn’t decide until I saw this one as I love honey bees and have other bee kitchen items… it arrived well packaged in recyclable materials. The seller was very responsive as I had a question. I may buy for gifts again !

Great quality purchase, every kitchen should have one. Good value for the price, keeps butter fresh for longer than your average butter dish. Not to mention incredibly simple to use and grip.

I absolutely love the cow print butter bell I had got. My husband is a fan and so is the dishwasher. No chips, cracks, or anything yet. I put it through the dishwasher each time we empty the bell and still in great condition. Would make a cute gift!Going on month 3 with it and both pieces get washed atleast twice a week! ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

So I was first introduced to this concept whilst aimlessly procrastinating, and seeing it advertised on the American BuzzFeed of all places. It was just before christmas and once again I was struggling to find a present for my dad, and this was perfect for him because he lives on an old school lifestyle of bread and beer - and the butter is always just left in the packet on the worktop and rock solid from the cold Irish kitchen.At first I didn't believe it could work, just couldn't grasp the concept, and for such a tall price for a butter dish i couldn't believe I was testing it.But it's really great.So it works by acting as a mini fridge, with the cold water keeping the butter fresh and also creating am air-tight seal. The mistake I made was not softening the butter a little first - if you wedge hard butter in to it, it's going to stay hard, whereas if you put room-temp or softened butter in, it's going to stay soft and even get softer. Plus the cold water makes it taste fresh out the fridge, and this thing is amazing.I bought the cow one only really because it's the cheapest, but the print is kinda cool and the crock as a whole is impeccably made, imported from France. It's varnished and dishwasher safe, it cleans up really easy.My only negative is that it's not quite big enough for a household eating toast all the time, for a family of 3 it the amount of butter in it lasts a day or two before needing to replace the butter, but other than this, I love it.

I was sceptical at first when I saw this. Some people might find it a gimmick but i love it. Its strange at first when you realise you fill the little pot with water to keep the butter fresh. The part that contains the water, I wash mine out everyday and on hot days fill it with ice cubes to keep the water cold. Make sure to push the butter down firmly as it will pop out.
