They seem like they will be very easy to use, but I have not used them yet. My product was delivered in EXCELLENT SHAPE, although the box was not sealed very securely ( not taped up ). Printed directions were not included, but reseller told me that Swix does not include directions. I know I can use YouTube, but sometimes I like printed directions especially when working with a hot iron and wax :) I only wondered if the directions were missing maybe due to prior use of the product; but product looks totally unused! I have not found a pdf with directions at Swix, but Swix does have lots of videos online to view.

When the ski season started, I used clamps for woodwork in my basement during my ritual ski waxing work. And I needed a more solid one, so I purchased it.It's a heavy-duty product, and the design might not be changed for 10x years, but it seems like it won't go anywhere. Simple setup and solid parts that it doesn't seem like it'd break next decades.It worked very well. Unlike the clamp I used, it didn't block anything when I smoothed wax on the ski. If I had purchased it earlier, waxing skis would've been much more manageable and enjoyable! I regretted it a bit as I purchased it this season!

I'd been using a homemade ski tuning stand for years and it finally broke. I bought these tuning stands and am very impressed. Sturdy, solid, holds the ski tight, and is easy to take on / off the workbench. I should have spent the $ years ago. Tuning and waxing goes much faster allowing me to spend more time on the slopes.

After many,many,years of skiing this is one of best investments that I have made no doubt! The cost,quality,and the build are nice.the only one thing that I’m not fond of is that couple of the round rubber parts fall out when put the ski on it’s side they fall out when I loosen them back up.I definitely don’t over tighten the grip I just tighten them snug enough to hold the ski in place.It just could be a small defect but I do worry about loosing those rubber pieces.especially after the first time I used the vise and I have only used it 2 times.

If you're looking for a set of tuning vises, would highly recommend buying these over some of the cheaper options on Amazon. Fully cast cast metal construction with good polymer gripping surfaces to prevent any damage to skis. Good range of adjustment means you can use these all the way from narrow carving skis up to fatty pow sticks.

This is an excellent vise for use with racing skis and other relatively narrow skis. I have found it very useful on my 65mm waisted race skis, but it is more difficult to use on 90mm park skis. Overall, great vise, with a quality, all metal construction.

Finally got some "real" clamps as opposed to my homemade setup and these are really good. I use these for tuning and waxing (narrow) kids race skis. I'm glad I paid the extra money for these (about 130 if I recall) rather than going cheaper, though at full list price it would be a harder decision.

this is very helpful when waxing your skis yourself. I tried without them it was tough. this has made a big difference.

¶スキー板にＷＡＸ掛け（ＨＯＴ　ＷＡＸ）を自前で行うには、本商品を揃えるだけではＷＡＸ掛けをすることはできません。本商品を適当な高さ（効率的に作業ができる高さ）に固定できる作業台と、ＷＡＸアイロン、ブロンズブラシ、ボアブラシ、ナイロンブラシなどの各種ブラシ類、スクレイパー、消耗品としてＷＡＸＩＮＧペーパー、ＷＡＸ、リムーバーなどが必要です。ほかにエッジの再研磨とか角度出しなどのチューニングまでしようとすると、それらの専用工具も必要になります。¶エッジのチューニングなどの難しいことはショップに任せるとして、とりあえずシーズン開始のＷＡＸ掛け、シーズン中のＷＡＸの掛け直しができればいいや、ということで一通りそろえるとしても５〜６万円が初期投資として必要になります。¶とはいうものの、シーズン中に数回ＷＡＸの掛け替えを行ったり、シーズン初めに１回しかＷＡＸ掛けしないとしても家族の分を含めて数本のスキー板があるのであれば、ショップでのＷＡＸ掛けの工賃が１セット数千円であることを考えると数年で元が取れてしまうことになります。¶私は本製品をＡｍａｚｏｎで購入して９年たちますが、全く壊れる気配がありません。というよりも、構造的に壊れないといった方が良いでしょう。唯一壊れる、というよりも劣化していく可能性があるのはアルミニウム製の筐体に貼り付けてあるゴムの部分です。私の持っている製品の場合、今のところゴムが劣化している様子はありませんし、ゴムと筐体を接合している接着部分にも劣化は見られません。ただし私はシーズンオフの間は各クランプは締め切らないで、ゴム同士やゴムと金属部分が密着しないように隙間ができるようにしたうえで、大きめの段ボール箱に適当に放り込んで保管しています。また、たとえゴムの部分が剥がれたりしてもゴム系の接着剤で張りなおしたり、ゴムそのものが劣化したとしてもホームセンターあたりで適当な厚みのゴムシートを買ってきて切り貼りすれば自前で修理できそうな気がします。そういう意味では一生ものの機材ではないでしょうか。¶製品の良し悪しについて・・・。ＷＡＸ掛けをするための機材は本製品しか使ったことがないので、他と比較しての意見を述べることはできません。ただ、長期間にわたって使用した経験から言うと、少なくともスキー板のＷＡＸ掛けに関しては不満な点や改善を求める点などは全くありません。他に良さそうな商品があるのか検索したことさえありません。と言わしめるほど完成された完璧な製品であると思います。¶本製品とセットで多くの方が購入されているであろう作業台の耐久性であるとか使い勝手については、私は判断しかねます。というのも、私は次の方法で本製品を固定して使用している為に専用の作業台を所有していないからです。都市部に住んでいる方にあまり参考にはなりませんが、田舎暮らしの方は参考にしてください。作業台の購入費用二万数千円が浮きますし、作業効率が断然上がると思います。¶田舎の農家には大抵の場合、軽トラックというセカンドカーがあります。この軽トラックの荷台を作業台にします。具体的には、ホームセンターで長さが１８００ｍｍ、厚みが１５ｍｍ、幅が３００ｍｍぐらいの集成材の板を買ってきて軽トラックの荷台の後部に差し渡せば、たちまちのうちに作業台の出来上がり！というわけです。集成材は数千円で購入できるので専用の作業台に比べれば大幅に安上がりですし、そのうえ市販の作業台なんかより安定しているはずです（何しろ１トン近い重さがあって、しかも接地面の広さ、あるいは設置点間の間隔は市販の作業台の比ではない代物ですからね）。加えて高さもちょうど良い感じになって、身長が１８０ｃｍ近い私であっても腰をまっすぐにのばしたまま作業ができるので長時間の作業になっても疲れません。また集成材が１８００ｍｍ×３００ｍｍあると各種ＷＡＸ、アイロン、ブラシ類など作業用具の置き場所も十分すぎるほど確保できるの効率的に作業ができます。また軽トラックの荷台は仕上げ途中や、仕上がった板を並べておくのにも最適です。軽トラックを車庫内に停めている方は参考にしてください。¶本製品（赤の製品）の他にも別のメーカーで色違いの黄色の製品とかもありますが、ほぼ同じような仕様と考えられますので、お好きな色のものを購入すればよいのではないかと思います。¶私はエッジの再研磨や角度出しなどを含むチューニングは専門のショップに任せていいるので中途半端な立ち位置ではありますが、自分が手塩にかけてＷＡＸ掛けした板が気持ちよく滑るのは最高の気分です。ＷＡＸ掛けだけならそんなに難しくありません。毎年のＷＡＸ代がなーと思っていていつつも敷居が高そうでためらっていた人は、ＷＡＸ掛けに関する動画などもたくさんあるので、「今シーズンから、お家でＨＯＴ　ＷＡＸ」を始めてみては・・・ただし、やり始めると奥は深いかもネ。

Looks like it won't ever break, will probably outlast me and my kids. Well tought, you can buy an add-on kit to use these for snowboard wich make them cost less then buying 2 different cheap kit from other brands.
