We have not had a water leak yet, than goodness. I tested each sensor and they all responded. They were very easy to setup on my mesh network. The app found all my old Kasa light switches and added them automatically, Now I have both set of devices on a quality app.I have had smart devices from TP-Link. They also make a good devices and apps that work well. When testing them, the sensors sent a notification to my phone, so in addition to a loud alarm it will let me know even if I an not home.I had previously tried to setup the top rated Moen water sensors. I spent at least 3 hours on tech support calls with them. They even decided the first ones I had were all defective and sent me a new set. These also would not connect to my network. The reset button is poorly designed and hurt to press, and I had to press it a lot. This is much better and it seems to work. I hope I never have a water leak but I feel much better prepared now. I had 2 water leaks at our previous house and they were very expensive to repair. This was easy and inexpensive.

Disclosure, our family is in the insurance business. And as a result, we see all too often what happens to people's homes when they suffer a flood. Sometimes it's a burst pipe, other times a leaky roof, but every time it happens, it brings grief, inconvenience and out-of-pocket costs. Thanks to TP-Link, you now have an affordable early-warning system.Water leak detectors have been in existence for a very long time. The old ones used floats to detect rising water, that subsequently tripped a switch. Modern units use low-voltage electronic sensors to detect conductivity between them, when water is detected. The latter method is far superior because it will trigger a warning on very little water. This product uses the electronic sensor to detect the presence of water. Hence, it will trigger a warning at the earliest possible time after detecting the presence of water. We placed the first one under the kitchen sink as we renovated our kitchen. With temporary plumbing connections, we were worried about a potential flood.Sure enough, the alarm started sounding when we switched on the dishwasher. Seems a hose hadn't been properly fastened and some water made it through the air-gap. Proof positive the thing works. You do need to buy a hub for these sensors to connect to your Wi-Fi however. Factor that into the cost, and stake out a central point where it will live. Keep in mind that the cost of the hub is amortized over the total number of sensors you install, so it's not much. The sensors may also be compatible with other home automation hubs, but I have not looked into that. You might.A great item to add under every water source in your home, for very little money. Set up alerts on your phone and be prepared for the worst whether you're in town or on vacation. Recommended.

I bought this set to help track down an intermittent water leak under my kitchen cabinets. Setup is easy and straightforward; just follow the instructions in the app and it works. The detector is very sensitive -- just a little trickle of water that made its way under the detector was enough to trip the sensor. I did experience a delay of a minute or two between when the detector sounded and when the Tapo app on my smartphone sounded the alert. If you already have an investment in TP-Link Kasa smart devices, you can import them into the Tapo app and control the Kasa and Tapo devices in the one app, a nice bonus.

I have 9 Tapo devices in my home. Switches, cameras, doorbell, and now this unit. Ultra easy to install. I now have a leak alert that sends off an immediate signal in my house and sends notifications to my phone in seconds. The sensor is discrete as is the hub. This brand has excellent products that work reliably, are affordable, look nice and do not require a service. Great purchase c

The title says it all. Pulled out the blue tab. I could not get the device to power up. Turns out, the batteries were installed backwards. Definitely a QA issue at the factory.

This sensor is better than others I've looked at, for a few reasons. It's surprisingly easy to set up using the Tapo app. I particularly like that if it detects a leak, it alerts on the sensor itself (loudly), the Tapo hub (which can be located where you can best hear it), and my phone. After I set it up in the app, I set it in a puddle, and got alerts in all three places within 1-2 seconds.During setup, the LED would not come on. The app prompted with suggestions for resolving this, and it turned out that one of the batteries had been installed in the wrong orientation. As soon as I installed the battery correctly, the setup completed as expected. If you run into a setup problem, don't assume the factory installed the batteries correctly.

Just bought this water leak detector because our new wash machine was hammering the water lines with its quick valve closures. It made one of the lines on the hot water heater leak. I fixed the line and put in a water hammer suppression device. Well the line leaked again a few days later, requiring two water hammer devices and a new hose, and thank God I had this leak detector in place. It quickly notified us and we solved the issue before our basement was flooded. Great product along with the Tapo T100 hub.

For those people who want a reliable water sensor solution with powerful and flexible notification options, this is NOT it.This product line is hampered by crappy software on the Android platform at least And there is no interface or app for the PC at all The notification options are a joke. For example, water alert notifications will flash on the screen once and then disappear. This is very bad if you are trying to use this to monitor your house for water leaks.TP-Link brags that their devices work with IFTTT but only their cameras are supported on IFTTT.
