I got this as a major, major backup. I have two Dbal 9007’s that I run. That said, it’s lasted 2 years, thousand of rounds, and is brighter than the Dbal aiming IR and Illuminator combined. Way, way brighter. Under gen 3’s it lights up the entire barn.

I mounted this up on a shotgun, and it seems to work as expected. I've got three primary complaints about it:1. The activation button is in an awkward spot, IMHO. I didn't find it hard to activate, but I wasn't wearing gloves, either.2. The strobe mode is too easily activated and not helpful on a product in this class. If this is your choice of laser, the likelihood that you and your goons are going to be operating at night and require your IR lasers to be differentiated is less than zero.3. Magnetic charging is awesome on airsoft guns that you can just leave out; it is very inconvenient when it's short and proprietary and you keep your gun in your safe.I do want to reiterate that it works well, shows up quite nicely under night vision, and there is a blue LED that shows you when the laser is activated. I guess I shouldn't really complain when you consider the pricing.

Until this product, IR aiming lasers have basically only been available in 2 form factors: an offset box meant to work behind an FSB or a handgun dustcover mount. On a free float tube or chassis rifle, they're either bulky, awkward or both, and all require a pic rail. This mlok direct unit is slim, narrow, and perfectly suited for a variety of mounting locations without being obtrusive or difficult to manipulate. It's also more powerful than I expected, which could be positive or negative. For me, it's a negative as the size of the beam and bloom at short range obscures the targets I intended to use it for, pest control on the farm at 50 yards or less. It will completely obscure say a racoon at 25 yards. Using an IR illuminator reduces the bloom perceived, but not the beam size.I tried to limit the output using 2 layers of polarized filter but that had no effect as it must have been filtering the wrong wavelength. All that said, happy to see the product, in this form factor, it seems very well made and the limited amount of use I've given it, zeroing and a little plinking for fun, I've not had any problems with it.

Re chargeable and laser is good for 2-300 yds dependent on your NV equipment. This is not a regular laser and you need NV equipment to truly see the laserGreat price no other can compare to

If you want a dot for non thermal optics this is good....if you're wanting a dot or line for thermals...it's not gonna happen with this.

It's ok. Does what it says and nothing else. Very average brightness. Will be visible at night with night vision for a few hundred feet. If you ever need to open it up to replace the diode or any other repairs/modifications it'll be a huge pain as each of the 5 small screws are heavily overtightened and prone to stripping.
