I thought I'd take the risk, since I could not find any information on if this would work. TLDR it works like a charm. and that 1km distance in the cabling has already got me thinking about some other deployments I have where I have a genset over 100m away that I would like to measure.

The converter is portable and worked without any issues. No special drivers were needed. I would recommend this product for any RS485 device that needs to be connected to the laptop or computer.

Worked like a charm, easy to hook up. The screw terminals are pretty small, so make sure to keep the screwdriver. I have other tiny screwdrivers, but I like that this came with one, I can just put them away together and not have to go find one when I need it.

I bought this device mainly to use it with my DMX lights, and it works great with freestyler and QLC+.

This isn't the cheapest RS485-USB adaptor out there, but it does provide some neat features which the entry-level adaptors do not.What I like about it:- It's isolated so any noise or voltage differential on one side isn't going to kill / affect the other side. Cheap adaptors do not provide this level of protection.- It comes with a short USB extension cable so you can use the cable and not have the adaptor block other adjacent USB ports when connected directly to the host.- It comes with a small disconnectable block. This allows you to wire up the cable to the block without fiddling with the adaptor itself. You can also easily disconnect the RS485 side without removing the device from the host.- It comes with a small screwdriver for the Phoenix-style connector. So everything you need is provided. The screws are small but still decent enough to not be too fiddly or weak. Other smaller USB adaptors have very small fiddly connectors which are prone to failing or cross-threading the screws in attempting to lock down the connection.Overall a great little adaptor and for the extra features it provides, is well worth the cost in my opinion to the slightly cheaper adaptors out there.

Ich nutze den Adapter um meinen Zwischenzähler via Modbus abzufragen. Das funktioniert seid circa einem halben Jahr zuverlässig. Erkannt wurde der Adapter auch auf dem Pi 3 ohne die Installation von Treibern.

J'utilise ce module pour la communication entre un CerboGX de chez VICTRON et un ET340. Une vingtaine de mètres séparent les deux appareils et la fiabilité est au rendez vous. C'est parfait.
