The barometer at the top of the dial is an holstered or aneroid type which measures atmospheric pressures mechanically without the use of liquids. The movement is temperature compensated, fully adjustable with inch and military scales and is calibrated for altitudes to 3,500 feet above sea level. The thermometer in the lower portion of the dial displays both F and C scales. Very nice product but in order to reset the barometer, one must access the back of the device -- and that is a significant nuisance.

This is a very beautiful piece. I am a woodworker, therefore, I made a mahogany plaque to mount it on. This was a 50th birthday gift for a very close friend. He loved it along with his wife and friends. Made very well!I worked in research and development during my working years so I know quality when I see it.

I'm extremely pleased with this barometer. It seems to be made well and is absolutely accurate. The barometer was sold as used from Amazon warehouse. There were no flaws that I could find, and as stated, is accurate as judged by pressure posts on Weatherbug. All said, it's well worth the price.

It really doesn't tell us if a storm is approaching, or even happening. It's always fair and dry at our house according to it. What I like is the looks of it on the wall.

Piece of crap. It's raining right now and the barometer says "very dry". Waste of $200!!! Would give it no stars if possible

On y new boat right next to the Weems and Plath Clock and it is just beautiful, gives the interior of my boat a classy nautical feel!

The finish is excellent and came calibrated for sea level. Works well and adds a touch of class to our vessel.
