It functions well. For me 40 watts wasn’t enough I do think it’s durable and heat was ok. I need 100w to 150 w set up. Which I ended up getting instead. Nothing wrong with the product. It just didn’t fit my needs.

Lamp is awesome. Be careful because it heats up really quick and perfect for our bearded dragon at night.

These lamps look nice and will work well for some situations. I'm returning them because they are not deep enough to accommodate the heat lamp bulbs that I am using. That's on me as the measurements are provided in the description. 5" maximum bulb height.Here are some other observations that I've made. I purchased the 8.5" lamps. They are only 8.25" lamps and are noticably smaller given the cutouts that I have in my bearded dragon's cage. Not a big deal but worth mentioning as a quarter inch difference could be important to someone else.I am deducting one star because the on/off toggle switch is located close to the plug end. That kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it? I'd still have to get down on the floor and get behind the cabinet to flip the toggle 'off'. At that point I may as well just unplug it.Otherwise these lamps look very nice and seem to be of the same quality as other brands.

I just finally took it out and set it up 2 days ago only to find the day bulb was blown but figured ok, not to bad and then today the night bulb exploded leaving shattered glass everywhere including inside the tank. Had to immediately rush to unplug it and clean out the tank so the turtle wouldn't ingest any of the small pieces. Had to call in work and tell them I would be late for this reason. Very disappointed.

I would recommend getting this light fixture for your reptile tank, it’s a good 100 watts which is plenty hot enough for most reptiles, I have had mine for serval months and it’s still perfectly fine, it also has a nice long wire with a switch, and I like that it is a deep fixture so you can have longer bulbs in it.
