Since Covid I have bought WAY TOO MANY house plants with very little knowledge to back them up. After some reading of blogs and a few books I decided to invest in light meter to best place my plants based on their recommended footcandle placement for growth. I was amazed at what a difference what a few feet from a window makes in terms of total foot candles and this device helped me place plants and ensure their light needs throughout the day. It also worked with my grow lights, which is super handy.Plant parent must!

Easy peasy. Great point and long distanceView the extra light patterns will probably not be used but you never know. I like no batteries a lot!!

I gave this a bad review at first because I was sent a bad meter, after returning it the company sent me out a new one free of charge and check the accuracy again and this one seem to be very close in accuracy. Going by the manufacturers PPFD map of my light my LUX readings at 24" should be about 40,000 LUX = 630 PAR this meter reads about 37,500 LUX = 580 PAR. Of course these are Ballpark numbers and could very depending on your LED lights. Review Update 9/19/21 I just purchased a new Sunrise QB3000 led light and checked it with this LUX meter. Going by the manufacturers PPFD map of the QB3000 my LUX readings at 12" should be about 63,000 LUX = 1080 PAR this meter reads about 59,800 LUX = 910 PAR of course these are all ballpark numbers.

I was looking for a light meter to help with my camera settings.Although this is a really good light meter, it is not for photography. I wish they had stated this in the product description, if they did, I did not see itIf your looking for a light meter for your plants but it, great product. If you’re looking for a light meter for photography, look else where.

I purchase this meter to get a light reading for my projector in low light. The fact that it is not backlit makes it impossible to see the readings.

Lux is a measurement of brightness. Lux meters are becoming a economical way to test certain lighting inside your home. I like that this meter comes with a little guide inside the instructons that gives you a break down for the brightness values of different areas that you may need certain lighting requirements for. I use this meter for light adjustments of my quantum boards while lux isn't the best method of measurement for this it does get relatively close to the mark the lights I test are 4000k so the values are simple to calculate for my use use.

Accuracy is 5/5 as it will give you an accurate reading from all angles and plus you can move the ball around to get in hard to reach areasEasy to use 5/5 as it took me afew mins to understand how to use this thing without reading any instructions what so ever!Value 5/5 for what this thing does it is totally worth the money atm the problem is I don’t need to use it often so I don’t know the durability of this device as of yet but will update if something big happens.Overall great device for what it is and good bang for your buck but some parts of it seem kinda cheap but honestly I am very happy with what I paid for it!

PRO - I can’t say how accurate as I haven’t had calibrated but it appears to work as advertised.CON - Arrived damaged but still functioned, when you hold it you can feel that it’s not a solid build.

Intended use is for plants, although it is not a PAR meter, it seems to measure light intensities accurately by moving meter closer and further away from the grow light. It also picks up the extra room light when switched on while under the bright grow light. With a little trial and error it will help to position the grow light away from the plants or plants away from the windows.

It took me a while to figure out but I figured it out with a bit of research for the purpose I'm using it for. It works well. The user manual was not informative at all besides how to turn it on and change settings. More information about the settings would of been helpful. As for that once I learned more about the product and uncomplicated things for myself I found it easy to use. I over thought it and made things more complicated for myself. But once I got it I can say this is a good product for the value. I used it to measure my grow lights, light intensity which helped to figure out the hanging distance of my light. Thank you for a good product that made life easier. Please keep in mind this is my first time using this equipment I am a newbie to this, but with some research online which took all of 5 to 10 minutes I was good to go. I do recommend this product. Great price and works great.

Pretty good value for what it does, I just got into hydroponics and thought this is a must have for my light heights.Accuracy is there, You have to read up on it abit to understand it and changing the settings to read Lux but its really nice to have.
