The magnet is a week... it slides down my metal frig (I have a food temp gage that stays put along with another tool ). It works ok on small items but a big jar lid forget it. I am updating my review after using it for a few months. Flimsy material and bends when you try to squeeze for a better grip on a standard jar lid, it just slides, no prip. I am looking elsewhere now.

I have very painful arthritis in my wrist & fingers and am unable to open most containers - Someone else has to open them for me - This adjustable opener is a blessing - Now I'm able to open most jars & bottles by myself with very little effort or pressure to my painful joints - The only drawback is that if the lid has less than an inch on sides, this opener is unable to grab hold of the sides & slips off. I really like having some independence back.

Works good using the “jawsâ€. The little tab that’s supposed-posed to open a soda ca’n tab doesn’t work. It only released pressure in the can but failed to open the actual tab.

Just got opener today and immediately tried it out on a soda bottle cap (see photo). While the device easily opens and works as described, the metal "jaws" had trouble gripping the tiny ridges on the bottle cap. The cap just wouldn't turn to open and the edges of the cap look frayed. I mainly bought this opener for these soda bottles as gripping small things with arthritic hands is difficult for me. I'm not a beer drinker so bottles with metal caps won't ever be pried off by me with this tool. I might have use of the metal prong to lift up soda can tabs but I tend to avoid them as much as possible. Haven't tried it on jar lids yet. I'm also of the opinion that it's priced a little high; it might be worth $10 at most. I'm not returning it even though I'm tempted. Or I may if it doesn't work well on jar lids. I have a little time.....

I can't even give this item a star yet had to in order to leave a review. Worked one time then no longer works. Not worth spending money on.

This tool used by old people like myself is difficult to use. It requires precise alignment with the lid to grip and function properly. My wife has been unable to use this tool.

This is a must for anyone young or older who has difficulty opening up anything with a lid. Due to arthritis I have problems opening anything with a lid.This product completely solves this problem!!!!Easy to use!!!! I have tried it with a variety of different products and it works every time. A bonus is you can store it on any surface that works with the magnet.Great product that lives up to its description.
