During a tune up of a Vanguard engine, I needed to replace a valve seal. This worked perfectly for compressing the spring and allowing the valve to be easily removed and reinstalled. Very high quality tool that will last a long time!

I used the tool on a Ford Model A engine that I could not use the normal tool for that engine on because of some damage. I then used it on an old lawnmower engine and it worked in both cases. The tool is sturdy enough to compress the valve springs on the model A engine that are significantly higher stiffness. It treated the old lawnmower engine valve springs like they were not there. I would recommend this tool for its intended purpose.

Perfectly designed and allowed for a much easier repair of an old Tecumseh 10HP engine that would have otherwise been scrapped. Allowed for the valve to be replaced and properly installed with a minimum of effort in a space that would have otherwise been very difficult -- not impossible --- but difficult. This simple device made it very easy. Certainly not "Snap-On" quality but perfect for the job, especially for the money.

The frame of the tool split when trying to compress the intake spring on my Briggs 20 hp motor very poorly made with metal that is very thin. Low cost equaled very low quality
