Looking to rebuild the heads on my car before putting the engine back into the SUV, I've been looking to find tools to quickly put the final pieces together properly. The spring compressor set is definitely a durable set in a nice plastic case. It's one of those tools that you need to compress springs and service the valve train appropriately. This was perfect for my vehicle and I'm satisfied with how the valves were removed from the head to easily replace. I'd definitely recommend the kit.

As a mechanic, you never know when you may need these. Picked it up just in case. I try to do most that I can without taking thinks to the shop. Everything looks good.

I love that it comes with a case. To me that speaks to its quality. The tools themselves look great, the threading is smooth. Plus, it comes with the valve lapping tools. It’s an all around winner in my book. This will make removal and install a breeze.

Nice heavily-built valve spring compressor for smaller overhead-valve engines.Good:- Heavily built of thick steel with decent welds. Main tool is nearly 10mm thick!- Good adjustability- Wide range of fit for (smaller) valve spring caps.Bad:- Will not work with most flat-head engines due to the design, including smaller flat-head engines- Will not fit larger valves, such as Big-block American V8's, Industrial Diesels, etc.

Kit comes in a blow mold case. The case hinge is the plastic flex type vs. pinned so it will eventually fatigue and the lid will separate from the case. That aside it is a decent kit for some basic valve service.This kit is meant to compress springs and allow you to service the valve train with the heads off the engine. You will need a different type kit to service with the heads still on the engine.I would consider the fit & finish to be on par with HF. It gets the job done and is a nice DIY set.I would really consider this more of a small engine tool as I don't really see lapping valves on a modern car or truck engine as they really require custom machine work for a good 3 angle valve grind job. For the DIY guy, works great for your lawn equipment and powersports repairs.

I have a smaller valve compressor that I use on small engines, but love this complete set that allows for any size engine. Everything seems to be good quality. I love how flexible this set is to adapt to any size shape head you are working with.

Finlly got a chance to use this. It's not the nicest fit and finish, but it's absolutely functional. Made quick work of reassembling a couple of old school rover v8 heads.
