Had one of these on an air blower for years and it worked without flaw. I plugged a non variable speed motor into it without thinking and blew it. I purchased a new one and it appear identical and works but they shortened the cord by three feet, I had to make up a new cord to reach my receptacle. I was not happy. Other than that it's a working unit

Had high hopes that others were wrong. Unfortunately, they were correct. this "controller" doesn't alter the speed of my bench grinder at all. However, I paid a little more and bought the AC Variable Speed Controller, 120V~220V 15A 4000W SCR Voltage Controller for Router Fan Electric Motor Rheostat. That one works great.

Our “Buck 92†wood burning stove insert had an excessively loud blower even on lowest speed, I was able to use speed controller to slow the blower down a level that allows for watching tv & speaking at normal volume. However to so does require monitoring a quality thermometer to prevent overheating the stove , if your running blower at lower speeds and you have the stove burning hot.

Did not like the variable speed foot switch that came with my grinder. Bought a separate on-off foot switch (WEN WA0392) for use with this speed control. Now I set the desired speed and then just switch on-off.
