I recently purchased this natural gas detector, and I am very satisfied with its performance. It is compact, sleek, and blends well with my home setup. The installation was straightforward, and the instructions were clear. It gives me peace of mind knowing that it detects potential gas leaks quickly. I also appreciate how sensitive yet accurate the device is. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve home safety!

The main reason that I chose this gas detector is to alert my family in case someone bumps a range knob, causing gas to flow without activating the igniter. The other reason is to alert my family in case of a gas leak in the range or in a gas pipe. The unit gets powered on by simply plugging it in. There is no setup required. For the first three minutes, the unit loudly announces about every 15 seconds that is it "warning up." During the warm-up phase, self-test can be run by tapping the front panel. After the three minute warm up, the unit sits quietly until it detects gas. An LED light remains lit to show that the unit is powered on.I tested the unit by turning on a gas range burner while bypassing the igniter. The unit alarmed about ten seconds after I could smell the gas myself. (I am very good at smelling gas.) This is probably good because you would not want the unit alarming from the tiny amount of gas that is released during the brief time that a burner is turned on before the gas has ignited. There are three levels of alarms spoken in English (with increasing urgency) and they are very loud. The alarm can easily be heard in adjacent and nearby rooms. There is one minor physical deficiency that does not impact operation. As shown in the photo, the plug area protrudes outward about 1/4" so the unit does not fit flush against an electric receptacle and tends to hang slightly, even when the receptacle is new and the internal contacts are tight. The unit might fall out of a very loose, old receptacle. However, if you have loose receptacles, you should replace them because they are a fire hazard.Another very minor issue is that if the unit loses power, even for just one second, it will go through the entire warm-up initialization again, repeating loudly "warming up " for three minutes. If your home loses power frequently, this could be annoying, but if your home loses power frequently, you should get the power problem fixed.Overall, this is a fine product that works as advertised. While it will make any home (or business) that uses natural gas or propane safer, it would particularly benefit people who might be prone to bumping a gas value or who cannot readily smell the odor of natural gas or propane.

We cannot be more satisfied with this GasKnight natural gas detector. It looks great, is easy to use (you just plug it right in) and it alarms you within about 10 seconds if it’s directly exposed to natural gas. We did a quick test with our stove and confirmed that.

I'm 73 years old. And I've always thought I was pretty smart. I've always kept a smoke detector and a CO detector. in my house. I thought. that a CO detector would detect if there was a gas leak from my gas stove. Very recently, I found out that was not the case. I immediately. I went to Amazon and ordered a natural gas detector. It's nice to know, having the natural gas detector will help protect my family.
