RJ45 RJ11 Port
Both the Master and Remote have RJ45 sockets. The indicators on the Master and Remote match exactly so you can check the connection on both ends.
Ethernet Cable Tester
Measures continuity of cable. LEDs cycle through in sequence. Cable is wired correctly. Great for finding flipped pairs, shorts or broken wires.
Telephone line measurements
RJ45 tester can also measure the continuity of telephone lines. It can be used to test cables directly in PoE/router/PC etc. when powered on.
Battery Included
The package comes with 1 9v polymer battery you need. Open the battery compartment, install the battery, and start testing in a few minutes.

Can tell me if I'm missing a connection even when I only have one RJ45 crimped on! Also tests connection of shield, uses standard AA batteries. Such a deal too!

This item looks a lot sturdier than the other cable readers on here,easy to operate,reads correctly,price was good also I chose the Red/Black color because that’s all I carry… MILLWAUKEE everything else is just kids toys.

Had to use for running from my media room to where our router is. This helped let me know that I crimped my cable correctly. Finished my project and my tester helped me complete my project.

This tester is not the best I've used but will get the job done. First out of the package I noticed there was no carry case for the tester. All my other ones comes with a carry case. This is also not equipped with a tdr function. It doesn't have a screen so you have to look at the lights to get the results. The function of shirt circuit and cross circuit is good but the downfall is that you have to look at both the master and remote to know results. This will have you walking from one location to the other to read results. In some scenarios this can be quite annoying.

I don't know why I didn't have one of these, but I finally got one, and now that I have it, there's no going back.So my only actual complaint is that it didn't come with a 9V battery. I suppose if it did then they price of this tester would have increased to cover the cost of the battery.I tested a grounded Cat5 cable - tested it both on the end to end method that the tester offers and the full every wire simultaneously test - each test individually.I tested a good cable, I suppose I should have tested a bad cable as well just to make sure - but I have not done that yet.I'm pretty stoked that I have a network cable tester now so there's that.I think this is worth the price of admission so there's that.

Taking the time to string a long cable through a room, wall, or under a carpet is enough work on its own. When you realize after doing all that the cable is bad and have to pull it all back out it's 3 times as much work. Thankfully that will never be me again now that I have this thing. I will be testing all of my cables before installing them from now on. It was also handy to check that my new PoE injector is functioning properly. I can tell it's going to help later down the road too when my wired IP cams reach the end of their life, since I will be able to quickly test the cable and rule that out as an issue. Overall, really happy to add this to my toolbox.

its very use to use. i test all my cables with this, and found some of the cables are needed to be replace. it don't come with batteries.
