I was pleased that this meter worked very accurately and was cheaper than the other meter I bought and returned. Works well on all materials and is very easy to use. Detected moisture where moisture was known to be on the back of a plywood board. It also has a flashlight and cloth carrying case. Great product and accurate. I use this meter professionally. this is an excellent watch. The battery life is great. The size brightness and durability is excellent. I think the accuracy is correct but I do question some of the readings. I just saw the current price. It should go back to the price that it was when I bought it almost a year ago. The current price is too much.

This is not a precision instrument for serious moisture detection and tracking ... but it's a good enough, quick and cheap way to measure if a moisture issue is getting worse, or better. I'm not too confident of its absolute accuracy, but it's good for comparative readings.

First time using one of these devices.easy to use, just turn it on, set the mode and place it against what you want to measure.flat surface is best.If testing firewood place it as flush as possible to the wood.the end of the wood is flatter but, may read lower than a 'split' edge, as expected.Used a few times to check firewood: freshly split, wood that has been drying for a few months, and wood drying for a year plus.The results were as expected.I ignore the lighted meter and beeps, and just go by the percentage displayed, an online search will tell you that under 20% is good for firewood.The chart on the back says hardwood is wet at over 15%Could be the makers are just playing it safe or have a margin of error.

This is a really good moisture meter for the price. It's usually in pretty close agreement with a much more expensive Orion meter (also a great pick if you have $600 instead of $25 in the budget).

Il difetto della misurazione ad ago è nota, dipende molto dalla qualità degli aghi ma anche dalla pressione che l’utilizzatore esercita sullo strumento, in quanto gli aghi sono conici e con una maggior pressione aumenta la superficie a contatto con il materiale e conseguentemente la conduttività. Anche se va detto che dopo averci preso la mano diventa più semplice ma comunque misurando l’umidità più volte nello stesso punto, le rilevazioni possono essere molto diverse.Infatti anche se lo strumento non è professionale si può usare a patto che sia coerente con se stesso. Ovvero misurando più volte nello stesso punto e nella stessa condizione, si dovrebbe ottenere lo stesso risultato.Il misuratore che ho acquistato, pur non rientrando nella categoria professionale, mi sembra coerente con se stesso infatti misurando più volte nello stesso punto, a parità di condizioni, ha fornito delle misurazioni con scarto massimo del 4-5% che per “correre dietro” ad una perdita/infiltrazione di acqua, mi va benissimo.Ovviamente devono essere rispettate alcune condizioni vincolanti:- eseguire l’accensione lontano da qualsiasi oggetto ed attendere una ventina di secondi;- il misuratore deve stare a contatto con la superficie da analizzare;- la mano che impugna lo strumento deve stare più bassa dell’area del sensore.L’area del sensore è visibile nella parte posteriore a forma di quadrato con dimensioni 40x40 mm.Ovvero anteriormente si dovrebbe impugnare lo strumento non superando il bordo basso del display. Il funzionamento è semplicissimo tramite i suo quattro pulsanti. Il pulsante verde accende e spegne.Il pulsante “MODE” di sinistra seleziona una delle 4 modalità di misurazione: “WALL” (muro di mattoni, pietra e pavimenti), “MASONRY” (muri in calce, in cemento o in terra, tetto), “SOFT WOOD” (legno tenero), “HARD WOOD” (legno duro). Il pulsante “HOLD” congela la lettura.Il pulsante centrale accende un led posto nella parte posteriore sopra al sensore.I valori sono mostrati attraverso un bel display a colori 49x39 mm, con una ulteriore segnalazione tramite barra a LED nella parte frontale superiore. Nella parte posteriore è stampata una tabella con i valori normali di riferimento per le 4 modalità.L’alimentazione avviene tramite batteria “transistor” da 9V fornita.Il contenitore è in ABS leggermente ruvido con inserti verdi gommati per aumentare il grip. L’ingombro totale massimo è 150x64x30 mm ed il peso circa 150 grammi compresa la batteria.Il misuratore pur non avendo una plastica “griffata” mi è piaciuto. Messo immediatamente all’opera in una perdita su un’area di circa 2 mq si è comportato bene rimanendo “coerente con se stesso”.In conclusione, dopo aver valutato prima dell’acquisto diversi prodotti simili, sono rimasto contento (per il mio uso ESCLUSIVAMENTE HOBBISTICO), anche per l’attuale costo di circa 37 euro che ritengo sia in linea con le caratteristiche. It does what is says on the box. I don’t have anything to compare it to but is seems to do everything is says. Very user friendly. The buttons do what you think they should.

Easy to use and gives accurate readings when compared to a lot more expensive unit. Not sure about battery life as only had it a few weeks but seems acceptable
