- How do I clean the RTD Sensor Probe?
- The tip of the temp probe sensor is cleaned with a damp rag, make sure the rtd sensor monitors the grills temperature data precise
- Can RTD sensors be washed?
- Yes, but in the cable part, Care needs to be taken to avoid water ingress. *Note: If the RTD probe is accidentally put into water, it may cause damage to the RTD probe, or an incorrect temperature test

I've never been happy with the temperature control on this smoker (+/-20 deg variability). Then I got an RTD Error while cooking and decided to replace the RTD with this one. Not only does this fit perfectly, it seems to have solved the temperature variability problem I've had to deal with since I bought the grill. I can't speak to the durability of the new RTD, but I'm certainly happy with it so far. Highly recommended.Installation wasn't bad at all. The recommended approach to use the existing cable to snake the new one thru worked well. If you are uncomfortable cutting the old cable, you could tie a string to it from the controller box and pull it into the cook chamber, using the string to then pull the new RTD cable. Try to work out all of the kinks/twists in the cable before pulling it since those can hang up. Also use a zip tie to bound up the excess cable and make sure to tuck it away from the fan. Removing the screws on the RTD was a bit tricky due to built-up debris, but I removed the upper grate track to give me more room.

My Camp Chef wasn’t heating properly. I guessed it might be the temperature probe, so I ordered this one. Although it was a pain to install, my grill is working like new!Great purchase, as it was a lot less expensive than ordering directly from Camp Chef.

So far I’ve used my grill twice since installing this probe and it works perfectly. Installation was a bit of a pain, but that’s because of the grill design and not the product. If I feel it quits working prematurely, I will update this review.

Super easy to replace. Just a plug and play and my smoker was back up and running.

Worked perfectly. Struggled more than necessary getting it in even though I fished it through with the old wire. The probe goes in vertically and then the cord makes a 90 through the wall of the grill. Could not pull through until I got it pulled through the very small hole. Once I did it was perfect!
