I am not sure how I fell into this trap and didn't check the reviews but other reviews are right! This tool is to thin and stripped the plastic nut it's supposed to remove. Now I am stuck with ruined nut that I don't know how to remove...Don't walk, run away from this garbage...

This tool does damage then removing cartridge retainer, it cuts through retainer plastic lock . Causing headache to remove tight space retainer

This removal tool was stated to work to remove the 1224 cartridges for bathroom sinks. It does not. It's too large a diameter to work, it simply slides down completely over the cartridge. I ended up using a screwdriver and a pliers to remove the cartridge. I can see that this would work for a larger cartridge, but not for what they state it will work for. I am very disappointed in this item. I assume it would work for a larger cartridge for a larger faucet, but I don't know if that's true.

This is one of those tools that make life a lot easier if you have this in the house before the faucet fails. My faucet has the Moen 1234 Cartridge. This tool works as expected and is super helpful at removing the cartridge without damaging any other part of the faucet. What makes me give this a 3 star rating is the price. At the time I am writing this review the genuine Moen tool is selling for $7.70 at Moen, and Amazon is selling it for $5.78. I am at a loss as to what makes this cost $9.99. If you need to replace your compatible Moen Cartridge, you need this type of tool, not necessarily this exact one.

Doesn’t really work too well. It seems to be a bit too small and the edges are too sharp. As the edges are too sharp and too small, the tool cuts through the plastic ring that you’re trying to remove.

I could not get this to assist in the removal of 1224 cartridges. Followed instructions on the Moen website on removal of their cartridges on two handled water faucetsHad to return and look for something else.
