This bit cut through treated oak 6x6 like it was nothing once it was on a good drill.

I tested this out not really what it was intended for. I had a tree stump with roots and I used this tool to drill enough holes into it so I can snap the roots. Made it easier to break dow tree roots in the dirt. Saying this the wood/roots in the ground has a granular dirt and sand which this drill had no problem. The flutes ejected the material out fast. Stays sharp for a long time. One thing to keep in mind this drill gets hot if you are drilling hard wood so let it cool for a few seconds, between cycles of drilling.

Like the hex head so that it doesn’t slip unlike a cylinder drill bit can. Reasonably priced and works well. Good range and recommend for wood drill bits.

It’s pretty good but the spider blue bit at Lowe’s out performs it twice over Sam size we’re driol 2/2 holes in red oak 12 inches thick on a log cabin.👅

I bought this 7.5" x 7/8" Auger bit specifically because it was one of the few tools of this type on Amazon that advertises a "1/4" quick-release hex shank provides optimal performance in both impact drivers and drills." (Direct quote from product description. When the bit was delivered, I discovered that in fact it has a *7/16"* shank, which makes it too large to fit in a standard chuck (as, for example, the chuck on my battery powered Black & Decker drill). I am really annoyed that this advertising mistake cost me $12 and I still can't drill the holes I need. :( :( :(

I needed to open two 1 3/8 holes on a 6x6 post for a pull-up station I am building. I can't believe how easy and smooth it cut through the post. I certainly see me using it in many other projects in the future.

This product is inaccurately described as having a 1/4" chuck size and I noticed that Amazon flagged it prior to the order that it was a high return item. Unsure why, I pressed on and now see that it will not fit a "normal" drill having a 3/8" chuck. The drill bit requires a 1/2" chuck minimum and I'm not buying a new drill for one drill bit.

You really have to push to drill through a cedar post.

this drillbit did wonders I drilled 75 Holes Way down into a tree stump in order to allow the weather to get into it to rot it out, and it had no problem cutting through the wet wood
