I really like this small little sensor. Read the instructions, and then it's easy to use. You start with it very sensitive, so it can sense a gas leak from far away, and by just pushing the button each time, it scales down its sensitivity so that you can identify exactly where the leak is coming from. It's already helped me identify exactly where on a hose I had a leak. Very happy with it.

I was installing a new dryer with gas hook up and was worried of any small leaks from the line. Rest assured I used the pen to detect for any leaks and all was clear. Upon opening the pen I read the insurrections and tested it out on my gas stove and right away it detected the gas fumes when brought within range of the flames. It has a very loud ping and meter bar, simple to use and gave me peace of mind.

I replaced the gas valve on my home furnace myself to save a lot of money. It's not that hard to do but I didn't want to trust just the soapy water test, and this detector was a very small price to pay. I tested it using a burner on my gas stove and definitely got an alert. It was sensitive enough to pick up the residual gas inside the pipes for several minutes after I shut off the gas supply and removed the valve. After installing the new valve I did the soapy water test on the connections that I could easily spray, but this pen was able to reach other connections that were harder to reach or near to wiring that I didn't want to spray water on. My gas valve is an older design and the outlet pipe connects to the back of it so it's not reachable or visible, but I could hold this detector pen to it and listen for beeps.I highly recommend this even if I never need it again. If you're installing or repairing something involving gas lines yourself, or even if you had a gas appliance installed or a repair done by a licensed professional, keep one of these on hand to check. It costs less than a smoke detector.

I had the furnace checked as we thought we were smelling natural gas leak. Newish furnace. Guy checked all connections and no leaks with soapy water. Cost me a service call. Still smell something. Bought this and tried it but no gas detected with either setting. Tested on volatile fumes and it did react then.

This device work very well. I have to replace my gas water heater tank and just want to make sure that i tighten the gas hose enough for safety. Turned out my gas hose have leak for a long time in 2 different place. Love it.

i farted and it beeped so i think that means it works 100% would fart on the fart detector again.seriously i bought this just to toss in a bag that might see the occasional use near natural gas and propane heated appliances. it works, wouldn't trust it in any critical applications but you should know better dude. anyway it hits on butane and propane, haven't had it pop on any real leaks, but i also haven't had any real leaks. if it sucks i'll update this to let you know otherwise it works well enough for the price point.

Worked - found my gas Leak quickly and easily, and confirmed the natural detector, my nose. Now I know what needs fixed.
