Update: it's clipped to my shirt collar middle. When I was sitting for lunch, about 2 seconds after I farted, it went off like crazy... Saying CO 150PPM!! Not sure if this is a fluke or what not?----I'm not sure if it's a fluke or is it really reportingaccurate information. The first day it was only 15% battery after 12 hours, but the next few days has been 80% battery left after 12 hours.I'm not sure if there's a bug or not??It hasn't died on me yet.I'm in a warehouse where they keep the doors closed and the ventilation off all night long while the propane trucks run around on the floor. This device reports when I get there it starts around 2 PPM CO when starting the shift, then gravitates to 6 PPM CO by the end of the shift.I've read you should have no more than 50 PPM for 8 hours according to OSHA?I told a higher up why I wear this device, that we have propane trucks running around while the doors are closed and the ventilation is off in this warehouse. He said something about doing something about it, but I'm not completely trusting he'll go thru with it.So, wearing this for my own personal safety.I did the only test I know. Put it near the exhaust, and within a minute, it goes off. I didn't put it in the flow of the exhaust as I'm not sure if that's safe for this device.I wish I knew a better way to test this device.Any changes, I'll report.

The gas detector is about 2 ½ inches wide, over an inch thick and slightly over 5 inches tall. It has a strong metal clip on the back. It includes a gas hood, a charging cable and a hard plastic storage case.According to the manual, the built-in battery is 3.7 volts and has a capacity of 2000 mAh. I also see the same information on the back of the unit. Also on the back is the explosion-proof number along with the logos of CE, UKCA, FCC, and RoHS. I also see on the back that it’s made in China. Under the specifications and on the back of the gas detector, I read that it has 4 different sensors.I think the LEL sensor is really important. It measures the lower explosive limit, which tells me if there's enough flammable gas in the air to cause an explosion. It's like an early warning system that helps me stay safe. The O2 sensor checks the oxygen levels in the air. If the oxygen drops too low, the detector alerts me if the O2 levels fall below safe limits. The unit also alerts me if oxygen levels go to high - threshold set at 23.5% by default. The H2S sensor detects hydrogen sulfide, which smells like rotten eggs but can quickly become odorless at high concentrations. It's highly toxic and can be deadly. The detector warns me if H2S levels start to rise, so I can get out of there fast. The CO sensor detects odorless, colorless, and also deadly carbon monoxide. The detector alerts me if CO levels are unsafe, like near a generator.I can change the alarm thresholds in the gas detector’s menu, but I leave them at their default values. I only have three buttons on the front of the unit. The power button doubles as the menu button. I press it once to enter the menu. I corrected the time and left everything else at default. In working mode, I see on the screen the percentage of explosive gases, oxygen, hydrogen sulfide, and the carbon monoxide concentration in ppm. In my home, the percentage of explosive gases and hydrogen sulfide is 0%, oxygen is at around 20.9%, and carbon monoxide is at 0 ppm. The sensors are highly sensitive. I believe it detects in real-time because when I exhale at the sensors, the alarm goes off with three lights blinking red whenever it goes below 19.5%.

I don’t have another similar device to calibrate or compare this one with so most of my opinion is unscientific. It comes in a really nice hard case instead of a soft, cloth style one which is a really nice feature. There isn’t much to it, it’s self-contained so no probes or accessories to worry about. The manual is helpful but there is definitely a bit of a learning curve to be proficient with this. The display is simple, but really nice. It’s large and easy to read. I might have went with a different font myself. It starts up quickly. I didn’t have any dangerous situations to test it on, but in cases where I expected readings to be higher/lower than open air areas, it did register a difference. The sensor seems reasonably sensitive. The battery held up well during all my little experiments and I had plenty of time left to play if I needed to. Having the choice between audible alerts and vibration is nice. I like the cover/grip area and it seems very durable. I’ll make sure to have this on in the shop as I work.

This H2S, CO, LEL, and O2 monitor by TOPTES is very useful for locating sources of hydrogen sulfide gas which is basically what makes up sewage gas. Sometimes it's really difficult to locate a source, especially when you have multiple potential sources in the same general vicinity. As far as Carbon monoxide gas, it is impossible to know if it exists or not without a detector because it is oderless. Oxygen is important because it is easily explosive if concentrations are too high and deadly if too low. And, of course, the Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) percentage is important for overall safety. This tool is well made, accurate, well protected in it's really nice case, and helps you to easily locate the source of the toxic gas. It's a great pumbers tool, but it's also a big plus for all trades, DIYers, landlords and even homeowners. As far as I am concerned, it is a "must have" instrument and everyone should own one. At it's low price point, it is a real bargain and literally can be life saving! When not in use, it's safely protected in it's top quality case. Highly recommended!Review for: TOPTES Guard-156 4 Gas Monitor Multi Gas Detector for H2S, CO, LEL, and O2, Triple Alarm Modes (Visual, Vibration, Sound), 0.5s Fast Response, Dust and Explosion Proof Design for Work and Home Safety 2411-063

I have to say the TopTes 4 Gas monitor has really impressed me for the price at the time of review (£49.99). I work in environments where some of these gases can be possible but unlikely. The highest risk being CO. My company typically supply’s us with similar gas detector from a more expensive brand that I won’t name but let’s just say they only come in orange. The TopTes tested arrived well packaged in a very presentable cardboard box. Located inside was a hard-shell case that contains the tester itself along with manual, charging cable and calibration plate.I found the case, while not up there with Peli, it was more than suitable for housing and keeping the tester safe. The testers housing feels like it is made from quality materials. The blue is solid but has like a rubbery grip feel to it. The buttons are strong and responsive, and the back lite screen is bright and easy to read.On power up the device runs through a self-test and alarm cycle so you can be sure everything is working as is should beI was able to test it with 200PPM CO testing gas. The device read 199PPM and the audio, visual and vibration alerts all functions as expected and were clear. The only negative I could find was that is it still using Mini USB for charging. Not the end of the world as they do include a charging cable but seems a bit out of date with everything being USB-C nowadays.

My furnace had a surprising failure earlier this winter, and I used this meter to detect and pinpoint the natural gas leak (H2S) I had in the house. It actually worked better and more accurately than what the utility company was using to track down the gas leak, when I showed him the unit. We confirmed that I was well below the actual LEL levels that would have been a problem to blow the house up, even though the H2S (rotten egg) smell appeared to be very strong.I am pleased that this meter worked so well, confirmed the same readings as the utility company's meter and I learned a lot about natural gas leaks and how surprisingly non-dangerous they actually were. It is nothing like in the movies.Thankfully my HVAC guy was able to make the furnace repair the same day.VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This is a quality unit.

Great little gadget. Detects four different gases. I had an exhaust leak in my car so I drove around with this until I could get it fixed to monitor for carbon monoxide.
