Our Carbon Monoxide/Propane detector gave us an unexplained error on a recent trip. We learned that the detectors have an expected lifespan of 5 - 7 years. Ours was 7 years old so we ordered a new one, but slept with the propane OFF until it arrived.

I do a lot of testing with propane devices for campers in my garage and I am also always worried about carbon monoxide. I have numerous propane devices like a furnace for my garage and backup camper fridges always running. And this not only worked well during testing, but also went off when some of my others did not. I was very happy this was a bit more sensitive and immediate to the propane leak I had.
